About the Snubby PCB

Snubby is an open source PCB design by Broosky, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 59 components from 15 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 31 resistors, 15 transistors, 9 diodes and 4 connectors.

From the project

An overvoltage detection subsystem for Patchworks using discrete components.

Snubby is a subsystem of Patchworks that I designed and built to detect overvoltage conditions on supply rails using independent, fully discrete comparator circuits.

The circuit operates in either latching (with hysteresis) or non-latching mode. Red and green LEDs indicate fault status, and a buffered output can drive a load or interface with an MCU or other circuitry.

Snubby: common questions

How many components are on the Snubby?

59 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Snubby design files?

From the Broosky/Snubby repository on GitHub, which has the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Snubby design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Broosky. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
