About the 12V step up PCB

12V step up is an open source PCB design by marcusmueller, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 32 × 46 mm, with 18 components from 14 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the TLV61048. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 3 connectors, 3 capacitors, 1 IC, 1 diode and 1 inductor.

General purpose Step-Up converter

Was warm. Did not find a good source for an affordable, compact, not-made-of-counterfeit-components step-up converter. Designed something that JLC would manufacture for me.

Note this was an exercise in rapid design, more than beauty.

CERN-OHL-S v2 for the schematic, layout and TLV symbol.

The footprint and symbol for the USB connector have been sourced from JLC/LCSC's EasyEDA library, https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/C2988369.html , and converted to KiCAD automatically. License there is

The KiCad project lives in the marcusmueller/12V_step_up repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

12V step up: common questions

How big is the 12V step up PCB?

The 12V step up measures 32 × 46 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the 12V step up?

18 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the 12V step up design files?

From the marcusmueller/12V_step_up repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the 12V step up design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which marcusmueller chose for the repository.
