About the Sous vide PCB

Sous vide is an open source PCB design by PeterMitrano, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 100 × 70 mm, with 29 components from 21 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the G5LE, RAC01, NODE_MCU1.0, P090S and LCD_Backpack. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 6 diodes, 5 ICs, 5 connectors, 2 switches and 2 capacitors.

Mains power is scary. I used this to calculate trace width/clearance: http://www.desmith.net/NMdS/Electronics/TraceWidth.html

- Hole size of screw terminals are too small. Should be 1.8542mm - Screw terminals are a bad idea, use IEC connector - Higher power heater - Buzzer/Dinger! - One wire for thermistor/heater - Something to stir the water around - Label on V+ and V- on heater are backwards (J1) - Button footprint is wrong

Sous vide: common questions

How big is the Sous vide PCB?

The Sous vide measures 100 × 70 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sous vide?

29 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sous vide design files?

From the PeterMitrano/sous-vide repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sous vide design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with PeterMitrano. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
