About the Esp doorbell detection PCB
Esp doorbell detection is an open source PCB design by Bonusbartus, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a board, with 12 components from 12 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the 4N35. By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 2 connectors, 2 diodes, 1 IC, 1 transistor and 1 capacitor.
It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.
From the project
A simple schematic to detect a doorbell signal, with esphome (esp8266) based software to send the doorbell status to homeassistant.
The circuit in the schematic is made to detect a ding-dong doorbell signal. The doorbell to detect is powered by 8v AC through an 230V to 8V transformer. The doorbell is connected to 8V transformer to in series with a push-button. The detection circuit is connected in parallel over the doorbell.
The GPIO pin of the circuit is to be connected to a microcontroller. For this project I used a WeMos D1 mini, esp8266 based module in combination with ESPHome to connect it to my Home Assistant instance and send a push notification to the connected android companion apps. ESPHome uses simple yaml…
