Christmas ornament - version 2024
This project features a unique Christmas-themed printed circuit board (PCB) ornament. The ornament is composed of two distinct parts: a red colored PCB and a laser-cut wooden overlay. The PCB, serves as the background and is embellished with festive graphics, including bells and a prominent snowflake design. The wooden overlay, precisely laser-cut, frames the PCB and includes decorative elements such as mistletoe leaves and berries, adding a touch of traditional holiday charm. This innovative blend of technology and traditional holiday motifs makes for a distinctive and eye-catching Christmas…

PCB-ornament: common questions
What microcontroller does the PCB-ornament use?
The PCB-ornament is built around the ATtiny414-SS, from the AVR/Arduino family.
How big is the PCB-ornament?
The PCB-ornament measures 85 × 98 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the PCB-ornament?
29 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the PCB-ornament design files?
From the Boogami/PCB-ornament repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the PCB-ornament design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Boogami. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the PCB-ornament without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
