About the Iris hw PCB

Iris hw is an open source PCB design by bunnie, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 26.6 × 14.9 mm, with 26 components from 15 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the BL8028 and TPS61169DCKR. By type, the board carries 8 diodes, 6 resistors, 4 capacitors, 3 transistors, 2 ICs and 2 inductors.

CAD files for IRIS hardware designs

This repository contains IRIS CAD files not found elsewhere.

In particular, the base machine is the Jubilee3D; please refer to its github for its base CAD files.

This repository is part of the IRIS project, an effort to make it easier to verify the construction of silicon chips.

Read more about IRIS at our arXiv paper, or the latest project update.

This work was funded in part by NLnet’s NGI0 Entrust fund, established with support from the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet Program, and my Github Sponsors.

Iris hw: common questions

How big is the Iris hw PCB?

The Iris hw measures 26.6 × 14.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.5842 mm thick.

How many components are on the Iris hw?

26 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Iris hw design files?

From the bunnie/iris-hw repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Iris hw design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which bunnie chose for the repository.
