About the Power PCB

Power is an open source PCB design by Dawson-HEP, published on GitHub under the EPL-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 54 × 24.4 mm, with 17 components from 12 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LT3461A. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 4 connectors, 2 inductors, 2 resistors and 1 IC.

The Dawson High Energy Physics club, run by Dr. Manuel Toharia Zapata is a place for curious college students to learn more about particle physics. Every week, students from a wide variety of programs meet to learn and discuss about flavour physisc, extra dimensions and much more. We engage with both theory and experiments, learning about and observing particles. Our many projects include an Alpha particle detector, spark chamber, Scintillating Chamber, and more.

Power: common questions

How big is the Power PCB?

The Power measures 54 × 24.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Power?

17 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Power design files?

From the Dawson-HEP/scintillating_chamber repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Power design in my own project?

It is published under EPL-2.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.
