DropGen uses a fluid reservoir and a piezoelectric buzzer to precisely and repeatably dispense small droplets on demand. This new version of the Harris Lab DropGen is designed to be 3D printed using filament based FDM printers. Harris Lab has developed a custom printed circuit board to make assembly and use of DropGen as easy as possible, including adding the ability to control the height of DropGen with a commonly available stepper motor driven linear actuator.

DropGen: common questions

How big is the DropGen PCB?

The DropGen measures 92.5 × 62.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DropGen?

17 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DropGen design files?

From the harrislab-brown/DropGen repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DropGen design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which harrislab-brown chose for the repository.
