About the Streamoscope PCB

Streamoscope is an open source PCB design by JosephFeld, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 85.4 × 157.2 mm, with 132 components from 38 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MIC7221YM5-TR, TPS767D318PWPR, FT601Q-B-T, HD3SS3212IRKSR and AFE5812ZCF. By type, the board carries 79 capacitors, 16 resistors, 15 connectors, 9 inductors, 5 ICs and 2 crystals.

From the project

USB-3 streaming data acquisition system originally designed for low-field MRI

It reads in 8 channels of data from the AFE5812 analog front end chip into an Alchitry Au FPGA board, which feeds it into an FT601 FIFO-to-USB-3 Bridge which can be read into Python. Due to bandwidth constraints of the FT601, it only streams two channels. However, more could be streamed with a modified FPGA design that decimates the signals or decreases their precision.

Streamoscope: common questions

How big is the Streamoscope PCB?

The Streamoscope measures 85.4 × 157.2 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Streamoscope?

132 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Streamoscope design files?

From the JosephFeld/streamoscope repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Streamoscope design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which JosephFeld chose for the repository.
