We need a DAC to convert our 8 bit pixels (3 bits red, 3 green, 2 blue) to analog color signals. The method with the fewest components is a resistor network with one resistor per bit. You could use an R2R ladder (Digilent does it in their VGA PMOD), but that's more parts. We will eventually move this on-chip, so fewer parts is better.
To find the resistances, we set up the circuit as a resistor divider with one bit's resistor on top and the remaining resistors and the 75 ohm termination on the bottom. From there it's a simple system solve. $B_0$ is the LSB here and we're using 3.3V IO.
