About the Cobalt poe trigger PCB
Cobalt poe trigger is an open source PCB design by msaribekyan, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 60 × 40 mm, with 20 components from 15 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the TPS2378DDA. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 diodes, 3 capacitors and 1 IC.
From the project
802.3af / 802.3at PoE trigger board
The board is designed to negotiate with 802.3af and 802.3at PoE injectors and output stable 48V DC power.
The board uses the TPS2378 IC from Texas Instruments. The ethernet transformer is placed between the input and output ethernet jacks. Center taps from the PoE side are used for PoE classification and power transfer, while the other side uses the Bob Smith termination. An indicator LED shows when the negotiations are successful.
