About the KthDesign PCB

KthDesign is an open source STM32 PCB design by nagars, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 40.4 × 40.4 mm, with 2 components from 1 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32L011K4Ux, from the STM32 family.

PCB keychain to celebrate graduation! Manufactured by PCBWay

I used Krita 5.2 to modify / create PNG images and used KiCad's image converter module to copy them into the PCB layout editor.

I used PCBWay to manufacture the PCB. The delivered product definitely met my expectations and I'm quite happy with it. My original gerber submission was missing a layer. Their engineers were quick to point this out and helped me rectify the issue. Their customer service was also quick and super helpful when it came to my questions about payment, shipping and even how much customs duties I should expect to pay. All in all, I highly recommend them.

KthDesign: common questions

What microcontroller does the KthDesign use?

The KthDesign is built around the STM32L011K4Ux, from the STM32 family.

How big is the KthDesign PCB?

The KthDesign measures 40.4 × 40.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the KthDesign?

2 components, from 1 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the KthDesign design files?

From the nagars/Graduation_KeyChain-2025 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the KthDesign design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nagars. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the KthDesign without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
