About the SpotiStation PCB

SpotiStation is an open source PCB design by NemoAndrea, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 23 mm, with 11 components from 7 distinct parts.

From the project

Minimalist (Spotify) music player built around open hardware design intended to enable people with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy music on their own.

This a simple PCB that minimises the spaghetti inside the SpotiStation enclosure. It should be fairly cheap to have it manufactured (less than 6 euros at Aisler) with the most basic options.

Board outline is specified in edge-cuts.dxf which is generated from the FreeCAD file edge-cuts.FCStd file using the 'new' dxf export.

To import it (or modified versions) to kicad, do the following:

SpotiStation: common questions

How big is the SpotiStation PCB?

The SpotiStation measures 65 × 23 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the SpotiStation?

11 components, from 7 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SpotiStation design files?

From the NemoAndrea/SpotiStation repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SpotiStation design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which NemoAndrea chose for the repository.
