About the Roamyboard PCB
Roamyboard is an open source PCB design by nevyn, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 16.9 × 100 mm, with 18 components from 6 distinct parts.
Other key parts include the 74HC165. By type, the board carries 5 switches, 5 resistors, 1 IC and 1 capacitor.
It belongs with the keyboards and wearables designs in this gallery.
From the project
Pants-mounted keyboard. Yeah. zmk, cadquery, kicad.
A pants-mounted keyboard that I can use while walking and sitting. Original idea was to literally sew it into pants, but that’s too impractical; now I’m imagining it as a belt/strap you put on top of your pants to make it wearable.
Made by Nevyn Bengtsson 2012-2026 (this is not the first iteration 😅).
My current approach is to make modular column modules that become angled to curve around the leg by having one diagonal side that then clicks into the next module, creating a curve per column. A nice!nano in a rightmost MCU column module, and a terminator in the leftmost column; and then a…

Roamyboard: common questions
How big is the Roamyboard PCB?
The Roamyboard measures 16.9 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Roamyboard?
18 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Roamyboard design files?
From the nevyn/roamyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Roamyboard design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with nevyn. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
