About the Logic board

Logic board is an open source STM32 PCB design by nikola825, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 18.3 × 28.1 mm, with 96 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F051K8U6TR, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the DRV8300DRGER. By type, the board carries 44 capacitors, 44 resistors and 8 ICs.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

Hobby home-made fpv quadcopter

This folder contains PCBs for a 1x and a 4x ESC. Mostly inspired by the AM32 reference hardware

AM32REF_F051 target can be flashed using standard AM32 flashing process.

The boards are supposed to be soldered together using the castellated edges on the logic board and pads on the power board.

It has no high power requirements. Can be fabricated as a cheaper 1 Oz/ft^2 thickness PCB

Logic board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Logic board use?

The Logic board is built around the STM32F051K8U6TR, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Logic board?

The Logic board measures 18.3 × 28.1 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Logic board?

96 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Logic board design files?

From the nikola825/drone repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Logic board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which nikola825 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Logic board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
