About the Aeromax throttle module

Aeromax throttle module is an open source PCB design by ninemind, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 42 × 15 mm, with 5 components from 4 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MT6701CT-STD-R. By type, the board carries 2 crystals, 1 IC, 1 capacitor and 1 resistor.

From the project

Unofficial, open-source DIY throttle module for the VIRPIL CDT-AEROMAX, with 3D-printable parts, KiCad PCB files, and assembly documentation.

An unofficial, community-built throttle module for the VIRPIL CDT-AEROMAX. This project began as a working replacement for the unavailable factory throttle module, but the interface can support much more than the original-style lever.

The design combines 3D-printed mechanical parts, a custom KiCad sensor PCB, and a magnetic position sensor. The module interface also provides a connection for an additional button, leaving room for custom levers, collectives, twin-throttle designs, and other original controls.

Aeromax throttle module: common questions

How big is the Aeromax throttle module?

The Aeromax throttle module measures 42 × 15 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Aeromax throttle module?

5 components, from 4 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Aeromax throttle module design files?

From the ninemind/aeromax-throttle-module repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Aeromax throttle module design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which ninemind chose for the repository.
