About the OpenTendo-AGB PCB

OpenTendo-AGB is an open source PCB design by Redherring32, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 131.3 × 72.4 mm, with 155 components from 78 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the AGB-CPU, AGB-REG, UMD2N, AGB-AMP and UMG3N. By type, the board carries 60 capacitors, 38 resistors, 11 transistors, 7 ICs, 6 switches and 4 connectors.

This is an open source recreation of the AGB-CPU-01 board. This was a joint effort between Redherring32 and Bucket Mouse (Mousebitelabs) - initial board scans, copper tracing, and footprint generation were done by Redherring32; schematic and symbol generation, PCB copper cleanup, and silkscreen were done by Bucket Mouse. This is a close to 1:1 recreation of the original AGB-CPU-01 circuit board - some liberties were taken here and there to ensure ease of manufacturability (namely, 6 mil spacing) and to improve aesthetics (most vias are tented rather than untented).

OpenTendo-AGB: common questions

How big is the OpenTendo-AGB PCB?

The OpenTendo-AGB measures 131.3 × 72.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the OpenTendo-AGB?

155 components, from 78 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OpenTendo-AGB design files?

From the Redherring32/OpenTendo-AGB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OpenTendo-AGB design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which Redherring32 chose for the repository.
