About the I2CHWC PCB

I2CHWC is an open source PCB design by riban-bw, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 99.1 × 99.1 mm, with 75 components from 10 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the Maple_Mini. By type, the board carries 59 diodes, 8 resistors, 6 connectors, 1 IC and 1 switch.

From the project

A hardware controller providing rotary encoders, switches and potentiometer values via I2C

I2C Hardware Controller provides an interface to other applications via 30 continuous rotary encoders, 50 on / off switches and 64 end-stopped variable resistors (potentiometers). The link to the host device is via I2C which requires a clock and data signal. Power may be provided by the host as 3.3V or 5V. (Both devices must have a common ground.) The host may continuously poll the hardware controller (HWC) for changes or use a dedicated GPI signal to trigger interrupts (or similar event handling routine). Several HWC may be cascaded to increase the quantity of controls as required sharing…

I2CHWC: common questions

How big is the I2CHWC PCB?

The I2CHWC measures 99.1 × 99.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the I2CHWC?

75 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the I2CHWC design files?

From the riban-bw/I2C-Hardware-Controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the I2CHWC design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which riban-bw chose for the repository.
