About the GaNdapter PCB

GaNdapter is an open source PCB design by Rootthecause, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 6.2 × 8.2 mm, with 5 components from 5 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 3 test points and 2 transistors.

From the project

An open source credit card sized DC/DC converter to convert up to 600 V to 24 V in a energy-, cost- and space efficient way.

I've designed a High Voltage DC/DC Converter to replace our LV Battery. Feel free to use it as well! Although this design (and previous versions) have passed two times FSG scrutineering and have been operating without any issues for over 6 months, always manufacture at your own risk! If you encountered any bugs or have suggestions for improvement, please use the GitHub issues form. For discussions and technical questions, kindly use the discussion bord.

GaNdapter: common questions

How big is the GaNdapter PCB?

The GaNdapter measures 6.2 × 8.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.599999 mm thick.

How many components are on the GaNdapter?

5 components, from 5 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the GaNdapter design files?

From the Rootthecause/DCDC repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the GaNdapter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which Rootthecause chose for the repository.
