Hobby Ultrasound Machine

This repository contains the PCB design files, FPGA firmware files, and host software for a hobby 8 channel ultrasound system. It can do phased array operation. Here's an example of the pulse in my forearm:

Picture of the functioning ultrasound system:

The parts of the ultrasound consist of: - The probe, which is a Acuvision 4V1c probe bought off ebay - As far as I can tell, it has 112 elements. I think a bunch of them are broken for this unit, so I've atttempted to work around as best as possible - The power board - This provides a variable voltage positive and negative rails for the…

The KiCad project lives in the rosalyntg/ultrasound repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Ultrasound: common questions

How big is the Ultrasound PCB?

The Ultrasound measures 165 × 113 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.5942 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ultrasound?

343 components, from 46 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ultrasound design files?

From the rosalyntg/ultrasound repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ultrasound design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which rosalyntg chose for the repository.
