About the TristateBuffer PCB

TristateBuffer is an open source PCB design by SABRINIAC, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 66.5 × 48.5 mm, with 60 components from 3 distinct parts.

By type, the board carries 34 resistors, 25 transistors and 1 connector.

It is for my '60s inspired computer im making base don the Intel 8080. At the time of writing this I have RAM + it's clock done and the ALU Modules done. After I get the registers + buffers I'll only have to make a motherboard and an opcode decoder/microcode.

The SABRINIAC is my '60s inspired, transistor based,, Intel 8008 Architecture computer. Every part of it from the instruction decoder to the alu will be built using purely transistors.

TristateBuffer: common questions

How big is the TristateBuffer PCB?

The TristateBuffer measures 66.5 × 48.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TristateBuffer?

60 components, from 3 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TristateBuffer design files?

From the SABRINIAC/8BitRegister repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TristateBuffer design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with SABRINIAC. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
