About the UAmp PCB

UAmp is an open source PCB design by triglav-modular, published on GitHub under the Unlicense license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 45 × 24 mm, with 17 components from 12 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the THAT1512. By type, the board carries 8 capacitors, 6 resistors, 1 IC and 1 connector.

From the project

THAT1512 based low noise preamp for replacing the one in the Buchla 208.

The board is 45 × 24 mm with a single M3 mounting hole. Gain is set by the 1K trimmer (RV1, a Bourns 3362P): about 15 dB at full resistance up to about 59 dB at zero, where the 5.6 Ω R6 sets the top of the range.

rev3 (2026) — same outline, header pinout and mounting hole as rev2, so it is a drop-in replacement.

- Corrected part numbers: U1 is THAT1512P08-U (was 1510), C4/C5 are 100 nF (were 470 pF part numbers), R1/R2 are 1 kΩ (were 6.81 kΩ part numbers), RV1 is 1 kΩ. - R3 100 Ω in series with the output, to isolate the THAT1512 from the capacitance of the wire to card 10 (it is specified…

UAmp: common questions

How big is the UAmp PCB?

The UAmp measures 45 × 24 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the UAmp?

17 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the UAmp design files?

From the triglav-modular/uAmp repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the UAmp design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Unlicense license, which triglav-modular chose for the repository.
