About the Oso module carrier

Oso module carrier is an open source PCB design by vamshikrishnaramasamy, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 54 × 25 mm, with 9 components from 7 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the PinSocket_1x07_P2.54mm_Vertical_SMD_Pin1Left, PinSocket_1x07_P2.54mm_Vertical_SMD_Pin1Right and OSO_BAY_CONTACTS. By type, the board carries 3 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 capacitors, 1 module and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

The first OSO module: a 54 x 25 mm carrier for the OSO75 bay that makes the whole Qwiic/STEMMA-QT ecosystem — and optionally a whole second ESP32 — pluggable into the keyboard. DRC-clean, fully routed (fab/osomodulecarriergerbers.zip`).

- Dumb mode: the keyboard's ESP32-S3 drives any Qwiic device plugged into J1/J2 over the bay I2C (GPIO41/42). Zero firmware on the module. - Smart mode: the XIAO owns the Qwiic (device) bus on D2/D3 and talks to the keyboard over the bay (link) bus on D4/D5 as an I2C peripheral; MODINT (keyboard GPIO47 / XIAO D1) is the attention line. The XIAO's USB-C faces…
