About the Receiver PCB

Receiver is an open source PCB design by will127534, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 27 × 56 mm, with 5 components from 3 distinct parts.

From the project

A simple MIPI CSI-2 extender with 4-lane support through HDMI cable

The board is very simple. The receiver can either use the 3.3V from the FPC cable or an external power input to supply the HDMI connector’s power output. The HDMI connector location matches the USB connector on the Raspberry Pi 5 to simplify case design.

The transmitter board has a DC-DC step-down converter with a 3.3V output and a bypass option to power camera boards. For the StarlightEye (which needs a 5V input), there is also a connector that taps into the HDMI power input to supply power—this could also power something else, like an LED light source. Additionally, there is a QWIIC…

Receiver: common questions

How big is the Receiver PCB?

The Receiver measures 27 × 56 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Receiver?

5 components, from 3 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Receiver design files?

From the will127534/CSI-2-FourLane-HDMI-Extender repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Receiver design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which will127534 chose for the repository.
