About the PCB1 Mainboard PCB

PCB1 Mainboard is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Andreas-Wahl, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 78.7 × 38.1 mm, with 28 components from 25 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny2313A-P, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the L78L05_TO92. By type, the board carries 8 diodes, 7 resistors, 6 capacitors, 5 connectors and 2 ICs.

From the project

SLOTCAR STARTLIGHT "Bären(n)keller - HARDWARE

In a private cellar bar that has been in existence for over two generations, originally named "Bärenkeller," a CARRERA® digital 132 racetrack was set up, and the first races were held. This quickly gained popularity among friends and acquaintances. As a result, the racetrack was gradually expanded, and possible extensions were discussed.

The idea of creating a custom starting light emerged because the original CARRERA® Startlight (30354) could not bridge three lanes (two lanes + pit lane). Additionally, the custom STARTAMPEL should not only display the start sequence with red lights but also…

PCB1 Mainboard: common questions

What microcontroller does the PCB1 Mainboard use?

The PCB1 Mainboard is built around the ATtiny2313A-P, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the PCB1 Mainboard PCB?

The PCB1 Mainboard measures 78.7 × 38.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PCB1 Mainboard?

28 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PCB1 Mainboard design files?

From the Andreas-Wahl/Startlight-HW repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PCB1 Mainboard design in my own project?

It is published under CC-BY-NC-4.0, which limits how it may be reused; read the license before building on it.

Can I test firmware for the PCB1 Mainboard without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
