If the device receives a packet with invalid type, it responds with an ERROR packet with EUNKNOWN error type.

This does not do anything, it is recommended to send a bunch of NOPs on opening the serial port to flush any data which might have been left in the device input buffer.

Pcb: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb use?

The Pcb is built around the STM32F302K8U6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Pcb?

The Pcb measures 75.7 × 37.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb?

148 components, from 61 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb design files?

From the atx/spectrometer repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which atx chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
