About the LPT Capture DB25 USBC BASIC PCB

LPT Capture DB25 USBC BASIC is an open source PCB design by bkw777, published on GitHub under the Custom license license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 36 × 22.8 mm, with 15 components from 11 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the FT245RNL. By type, the board carries 4 capacitors, 3 resistors, 2 connectors, 1 IC and 1 inductor.

From the project

Capture the output from a computer's parallel printer port.

NOTE: Only the top/default DB25MicroUSBBASIC version is tested and known good. All other versions are untested guesswork.

The device appears as a usb-serial adapter to the modern machine. Drivers are standard in any modern os or platform. Use any serial comm program like PuTTY or TeraTerm or minicom or gnu screen etc to read the COM port. It doesn't matter what baud rate you select in the comm program.
