About the Tesseract PCB

Tesseract is an open source PCB design by crkalapat, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 68.8 × 68.3 mm, with 23 components from 15 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MAX98357AETE+T. By type, the board carries 8 connectors, 6 capacitors, 4 switches, 3 resistors and 1 IC.

It belongs with the audio, displays & leds and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

An open source smart speaker

An open-source smart speaker that works with any AI you want

Tesseract is a smart speaker that lets you talk to your favorite AI without picking up your phone or getting on your computer. You pick the model (Claude, GPT, open source models, or whatever else you like), and you can switch any time a better one comes out. I'm also planning smart home integration, so you'll be able to control your devices from Tesseract itself or from the Claude or ChatGPT app.

Tesseract: common questions

How big is the Tesseract PCB?

The Tesseract measures 68.8 × 68.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Tesseract?

23 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Tesseract design files?

From the crkalapat/tesseract repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Tesseract design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with crkalapat. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
