About the SequenceMachine PCB
SequenceMachine is an open source NXP PCB design by CSHL-devon, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 131 × 83.5 mm, with 51 components from 19 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family. Other key parts include the ROE-12005S, LTC1448 and ULN2803A. By type, the board carries 18 resistors, 16 diodes, 5 ICs, 5 connectors, 5 capacitors and 1 inductor.
From the project
Multi-Odor Olfactometer for Fast Sequence Presentation
A simple, Teensy(4.0) based olfactometer for producing an accurately timed, closely spaced sequence of two odorants...or one, your call.
This is really just a programmable solenoid valve driver. Fortunately, for most olfaction experiments all you really need to do is flip a few valves on and off in the correct sequence and with the correct timing. This is a very un-fancy way of streamlining that process, especially for labs building their first rig.

SequenceMachine: common questions
What microcontroller does the SequenceMachine use?
The SequenceMachine is built around the Teensy4.0, from the NXP family.
How big is the SequenceMachine PCB?
The SequenceMachine measures 131 × 83.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the SequenceMachine?
51 components, from 19 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the SequenceMachine design files?
From the CSHL-devon/SequenceMachine repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the SequenceMachine design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which CSHL-devon chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the SequenceMachine without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug NXP firmware against it before you order a PCB.
