About the GoogleMusicRadio PCB

GoogleMusicRadio is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by DanNixon, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a board, with 54 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATMEGA328 (ARDUINO_BL), from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the IL1205S, AMP12W and DS1807. By type, the board carries 17 resistors, 11 connectors, 6 ICs, 6 transistors, 3 capacitors and 2 switches.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

A hardware internet radio for Google Play Music.

GoogleMusicRadio ================ Internet radio which streams music form a Google Play library using a Raspberry Pi and Arduino.

Overview -------- Allows browsing and playing tracks from a Google Play music library on a hardware internet radio, browsing library is done through a Artist>Album>Track menu structure (or a Playlist>Track structure in the case of playlists).

GoogleMusicRadio: common questions

What microcontroller does the GoogleMusicRadio use?

The GoogleMusicRadio is built around the ATMEGA328 (ARDUINO_BL), from the AVR/Arduino family.

How many components are on the GoogleMusicRadio?

54 components, from 29 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the GoogleMusicRadio design files?

From the DanNixon/GoogleMusicRadio repository on GitHub, which has a netlist; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the GoogleMusicRadio design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which DanNixon chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the GoogleMusicRadio without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
