By pressing footswitch you move drill down. Speed setup produced by variable resistor on tray's control. Pulling footswitch up returns drill into its previous position. If you press down the footswitch when drill haven't reach its starting position, it moves down again and returns back on next pulling up.

If drill motor was off, pressing footswitch will also turn it on.

MCU module: common questions

What microcontroller does the MCU module use?

The MCU module is built around the STM8S105K4T6C, from the STM32 family.

How big is the MCU module?

The MCU module measures 53.5 × 50 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the MCU module?

37 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the MCU module design files?

From the eddyem/STM8_samples repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the MCU module design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with eddyem. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the MCU module without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
