About the EnvOpenTorch PCB

EnvOpenTorch is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by Envious-Data, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 95.5 × 30 mm, with 38 components from 32 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny1634-M, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TPS922054DMTR and AP7384-50SA. By type, the board carries 16 capacitors, 9 resistors, 4 connectors, 4 switches, 3 ICs and 1 diode.

From the project

An open source USB rechargable LED Torch

Generally speaking is to have a decently powerful open source LED torch, Im hoping for 10K lumens and some basic brightness control, anything else is bonnus features but there are some i'd like such as PD charging and being able to act as a battery bank if needed.

EnvOpenTorch: common questions

What microcontroller does the EnvOpenTorch use?

The EnvOpenTorch is built around the ATtiny1634-M, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the EnvOpenTorch PCB?

The EnvOpenTorch measures 95.5 × 30 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the EnvOpenTorch?

38 components, from 32 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EnvOpenTorch design files?

From the Envious-Data/EnvOpenTorch repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EnvOpenTorch design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which Envious-Data chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the EnvOpenTorch without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
