About the STTS PCB

STTS is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by EthanKerman, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 85.5 × 54 mm, with 21 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATtiny1617-M, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 16 resistors, 2 capacitors, 1 IC, 1 battery holder and 1 diode.

It belongs with the audio and usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

A behbeh credit card sized synth for your wallet. The keys are a full octave ad you can go up and down 2 more. The noise from a piezo disc which is why theres a hole in the board.

- 13 touch keys (C to high C), octave down, octave up, and mode - Three play modes of plain, arpeggio, vibrato - Octave shift of ±2 - Differential piezo drive for hopefully double the volume of a normal buzzer - Runs on one CR2016 coin cell, auto sleeps after 30 s, hold MODE to wake

STTS: common questions

What microcontroller does the STTS use?

The STTS is built around the ATtiny1617-M, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the STTS PCB?

The STTS measures 85.5 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 0.8 mm thick.

How many components are on the STTS?

21 components, from 6 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the STTS design files?

From the EthanKerman/STTS repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the STTS design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with EthanKerman. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the STTS without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
