About the Slackpad PCB

Slackpad is an open source PCB design by faded-debug, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 94.5 × 94 mm, with 26 components from 4 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MOUDLE-SEEEDUINO-XIAO. By type, the board carries 13 switches, 12 diodes and 1 IC.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

A programmable pad that includes 12 keys used for keyboard shortcuts in apps like Slack and OBS.

Diode direction is COL2ROW — current flows from the column, through the switch and its diode, into the row.

Note: on the PCB the physical columns run right to left, so COL1 is the rightmost column.

The case is a tray with a lid. The PCB drops into the tray and is surrounded by walls on all four sides; the top plate closes it from above and carries the switches.

Slackpad: common questions

How big is the Slackpad PCB?

The Slackpad measures 94.5 × 94 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Slackpad?

26 components, from 4 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Slackpad design files?

From the faded-debug/Slackpad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Slackpad design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with faded-debug. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
