About the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM PCB
Adapter Template Rohm FRAM is an open source STM32 PCB design by FlorianFrank, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 154.3 × 90.2 mm, with 3 components from 3 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the PinHeader_2x32_P2.54mm_Vertical, from the STM32 family. By type, the board carries 2 connectors and 1 IC.
From the project
A comprehensive test platform for advanced memory device characterization combining FPGA acceleration, real-time firmware, and automated experiment scheduling
This directory contains a reference adapter board design that can be adapted to different memory types. The current implementation targets the Lapis Semiconductor MR48V256C FRAM memory module.
A 3D rendering of the board is shown below:
1. Open the KiCad Project (AdapterTemplateRohmFRAM.pro`)
The design was created using KiCad 8.0.7.
2. Open the schematic - Identify the two 2×32-pin connectors on the left and right: - These connect to the FMC adapter board. - Do not modify these connectors. - Locate the symbol reprenting the memory module in the center: - Either modify the symbol to fit…

Adapter Template Rohm FRAM: common questions
What microcontroller does the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM use?
The Adapter Template Rohm FRAM is built around the PinHeader_2x32_P2.54mm_Vertical, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM PCB?
The Adapter Template Rohm FRAM measures 154.3 × 90.2 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM?
3 components, from 3 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM design files?
From the FlorianFrank/MemTestX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which FlorianFrank chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Adapter Template Rohm FRAM without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
