About the Headless tef lite PCB

Headless tef lite is an open source STM32 PCB design by FMDX-org, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 55 × 25 mm, with 84 components from 40 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the C92504, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the TEF6687HN/V205 (F8705), C2827693 and C2862740. By type, the board carries 35 capacitors, 25 resistors, 9 inductors, 5 diodes, 4 ICs and 3 connectors.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Small low cost Headless TEF variant.

USB radio tuner based on the STM32F072 MCU and TEF668X/V205 RF receiver with digital audio output over USB. This is the lite variant of our Headless USB tuner. It is more compact, with a simplified RF input path and only one antenna input for AM/FM.

This design is optimized as a cost-efficient solution tailored for automated PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) processes.

Headless tef lite: common questions

What microcontroller does the Headless tef lite use?

The Headless tef lite is built around the C92504, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Headless tef lite PCB?

The Headless tef lite measures 55 × 25 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Headless tef lite?

84 components, from 40 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Headless tef lite design files?

From the FMDX-org/headless-tef-lite repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Headless tef lite design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which FMDX-org chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Headless tef lite without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
