About the Ahrs can adapter PCB

Ahrs can adapter is an open source STM32 PCB design by gpgreen, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 61.3 × 77 mm, with 33 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F107RCT6, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MPM3610-adafruit 5V, UA78M33CDCYR, LTC2875-S8 and VCAN26A2. By type, the board carries 12 capacitors, 7 ICs, 5 resistors, 4 diodes, 2 connectors and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

KiCad design for a CAN adapter to a Dronecad flight board. The MCU is a stm32f107rbt6.

I have put test points on the board, so that pogo pins can be used to program the MCU.

From a 20pin JTAG connector, run wires to the following test pads to connect a debugger:

Ahrs can adapter: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ahrs can adapter use?

The Ahrs can adapter is built around the STM32F107RCT6, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Ahrs can adapter PCB?

The Ahrs can adapter measures 61.3 × 77 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ahrs can adapter?

33 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ahrs can adapter design files?

From the gpgreen/ahrs-can-adapter repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ahrs can adapter design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which gpgreen chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Ahrs can adapter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
