STM32F405 Flight Controller and NRF24 Transmitter

This repository contains the complete hardware schematics (KiCad) and flight firmware (C++/Arduino) for a custom-designed drone system. This project bypasses off-the-shelf flight controllers by using a scratch-built STM32F405 receiver board paired with a custom NRF24L01+ remote transmitter.

Hardware Architecture & Pinout: MCU: STMicroelectronics STM32F405RGT6 (Arm Cortex-M4, 168 MHz). Radio (Hardware SPI2): NRF24L01+ explicitly wired to PB13 (SCK), PB14 (MISO), and PB15 (MOSI) to prevent clock collisions with motor timers. IMU (Custom I2C): MPU6050 gyro/accelerometer mapped to PA5 (SCL) and…

Reciever: common questions

What microcontroller does the Reciever use?

The Reciever is built around the STM32F405RGTx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Reciever PCB?

The Reciever measures 52.7 × 52 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Reciever?

56 components, from 25 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Reciever design files?

From the Harshil200619/STM32-Custom-Drone repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Reciever design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Harshil200619. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Reciever without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
