About the Amiga External PCB

Amiga External is an open source PCB design by hoglet67, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21.9 × 76.7 mm, with 6 components from 5 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the XC9572XL-VQFP44 and HC245. By type, the board carries 3 ICs, 2 capacitors and 1 connector.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

Bare-metal Raspberry Pi project that provides pixel-perfect sampling of Retro Computer RGB/YUV video and conversion to HDMI

This is an adapater to be plugged between the VIC-IIe and its socket in a Commodore 128. Using this the, C64 Video Enchancement Board should in theory be able to work for the 40 columns mode display of the C128.

Use the provided gerber files (gerber.zip) to have a the PCB manufactured. Use the provided bill of material (c218adapter_bom.ods) to order the necessary parts and solder everything according to the silk-screen placement markings. Be careful to get the orientation of the various ICs right. Pin 1 is always marked specifically.
