About the Coaster backboard PCB
Coaster backboard is an open source STM32 PCB design by Jana-Marie, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 93 × 93 mm, with 126 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F072C8Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the IS31FL3733-QF and MCP1700-3302E_SOT23. By type, the board carries 78 diodes, 20 capacitors, 13 resistors, 8 connectors, 3 ICs and 1 jumper.

A sharky and colourful coaster glowing in pride for you~.
It consists of a stack of three circuit boards, sandwhiched together. There is a STM32F072, a LED driver and plenty LEDs on the baseboard, cutouts on the midboards to hide the components in, and a mask frontboard that shows the artwork. The LEDs are not all simple RGB ones, but a set of single color LEDs for the stars, carefully selected to represent the diversity in color on a night sky. For the girl on the left side, each LED spot consists of 5 single LEDs, RGB + Pink + Cyan, allowing one to expand the typical RGB range with…

Coaster backboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the Coaster backboard use?
The Coaster backboard is built around the STM32F072C8Tx, from the STM32 family.
How big is the Coaster backboard PCB?
The Coaster backboard measures 93 × 93 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Coaster backboard?
126 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Coaster backboard design files?
From the Jana-Marie/haj-coaster repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Coaster backboard design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Jana-Marie. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Coaster backboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
