About the Lensmount PCB

Lensmount is an open source STM32 PCB design by Jana-Marie, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 49.8 × 49.8 mm, with 33 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F042G6Ux, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the XC6206PxxxMR. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 9 connectors, 6 capacitors, 5 transistors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Open source 1080p60Hz USB & IP camera based on Sochip s3 and OS05A10/OS05A20 (general MIPI CSI IP camera interface).

In the current state the camera does boot and the sensor shows up under linux, however no video or image files have been captured yet, as the sensor driver is currently being written by us. All hardware files are tested in the current revision and are, except for some minor changes, final. Still no waranty as this is an open source project. CAD files have been designed with OpenSCAD and should be final too.

Lensmount: common questions

What microcontroller does the Lensmount use?

The Lensmount is built around the STM32F042G6Ux, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Lensmount PCB?

The Lensmount measures 49.8 × 49.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Lensmount?

33 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Lensmount design files?

From the Jana-Marie/OtterCam-s3 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Lensmount design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which Jana-Marie chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Lensmount without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
