About the J-XT-keyboard PCB
J-XT-keyboard is an open source STM32 PCB design by Joel-Neuhaus-Khatami, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 400.1 × 95.3 mm, with 192 components from 20 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the STM32F072C8TX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the XC6206PXXXMR-REGULATOR_LINEAR. By type, the board carries 91 switches, 86 diodes, 9 capacitors, 3 resistors, 2 ICs and 1 connector.
It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.
From the project
This project is to develop a full mechanical keyboard from scratch based on a modified XT layout
NOTE: The RP2040 based design is being replaced with an STM32 variety instead. The readme is thus out of date, however the case files are final New pcb and firmware will be merged soon.
This repo is for all the files used in designing and manufacturing a mechanical keyboard that I made from scratch. The keyboard itself is a modified XT layout, which was a very popular layout for 1980's keyboards.

J-XT-keyboard: common questions
What microcontroller does the J-XT-keyboard use?
The J-XT-keyboard is built around the STM32F072C8TX, from the STM32 family.
How big is the J-XT-keyboard PCB?
The J-XT-keyboard measures 400.1 × 95.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the J-XT-keyboard?
192 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the J-XT-keyboard design files?
From the Joel-Neuhaus-Khatami/J-XT-keyboard repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the J-XT-keyboard design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which Joel-Neuhaus-Khatami chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the J-XT-keyboard without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
