About the Hub20 PCB

Hub20 is an open source STM32 PCB design by joshajohnson, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 89 × 124 mm, with 172 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F072C8Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the AP2112K-3.3, USBLC6-2SC6 and CY7C65632-28LTXCT. By type, the board carries 58 capacitors, 51 diodes, 21 switches, 13 resistors, 7 ICs and 6 LEDs.

It belongs with the keyboards designs in this gallery.

From the project

Hub20 is a numpad with a bunch of features you never knew you needed.

Hub20 is a numpad with a bunch of features you never knew you needed. They include:

- Left and Right handed layouts supported, along with a 4x5 1U grid enabling it to be used as a macropad. - Two rotary encoders, enabling intuitive controls for a wide range of tools including CAD and photo / video editing. - Inbuilt USB 2.0 Hub with Type-C connectors, allowing connection to other keyboards, memory sticks, wireless receivers and more! - VIA and QMK compatibility, including a "macro" mode enabling the keys to be remapped on a host computer. - 27 addressable RGB leds, including one under each…

Hub20: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hub20 use?

The Hub20 is built around the STM32F072C8Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Hub20 PCB?

The Hub20 measures 89 × 124 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hub20?

172 components, from 29 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hub20 design files?

From the joshajohnson/Hub20 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hub20 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which joshajohnson chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Hub20 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
