About the FPGA-Retro-Arcade-Console PCB

FPGA-Retro-Arcade-Console is an open source PCB design by JuanAVillagomez, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 70 × 77.5 mm, with 9 components from 9 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the LP2950-3.3_TO92. By type, the board carries 3 connectors, 1 IC and 1 module.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

A custom 4-layer PCB and Verilog game engine using the Digilent Cmod A7.

A fully custom hardware and firmware implementation of a retro arcade game engine built from scratch. This project interfaces a Digilent Cmod A7 FPGA with a custom-designed printed circuit board (PCB) featuring a resistor-based VGA Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), isolated power delivery, and NES controller input logic.

This project bridges bare-metal hardware design with digital logic synthesis, entirely bypassing traditional microcontrollers in favor of hardware description logic.
