About the Spritely Bullfrog PCB

Spritely Bullfrog is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by jwkunz, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 50 × 100 mm, with 18 components from 10 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ABX00033, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the TS02-66-60-BK-100-SCR-D. By type, the board carries 8 connectors, 3 resistors, 2 transistors, 1 IC, 1 module and 1 speaker.

From the project

4-person buzzer game with hardware files and code

See the assembly directions hosted https://www.instructables.com/4-Person-Wired-Buzzer-Game-From-Scratch/.

This project includes the hardware design files and source code needed to build a four-person buzzer game from scratch.

It was created as a volunteer activity associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to teach teenagers how to solder, 3D print, and program in C++.

Spritely Bullfrog: common questions

What microcontroller does the Spritely Bullfrog use?

The Spritely Bullfrog is built around the ABX00033, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Spritely Bullfrog PCB?

The Spritely Bullfrog measures 50 × 100 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Spritely Bullfrog?

18 components, from 10 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Spritely Bullfrog design files?

From the jwkunz/Spritely_Bullfrog repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Spritely Bullfrog design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which jwkunz chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Spritely Bullfrog without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
