About the Control-Board

Control-Board is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by kholia, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 51.7 × 41.3 mm, with 3 components from 3 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the Nano_v3, from the AVR/Arduino family. By type, the board carries 1 module and 1 connector.

It belongs with the rf & radio designs in this gallery.

From the project

Easy Digital 'FT8' Transceiver. Easy-Transceiver v0.01.

The whole design is modular, parametric (cost and others), field repairable, and super extensible. It is almost trivial to add support for more FSK digital modes.

The Easy-Transceiver hardware works with the native Hybrid FT8 Radio Android app, and also with WSJT-X (running on RPi).

The Easy-Transceiver system can be built for around 3000 INR (~40 USD) or less. We are working on reducing the cost to 2300 INR ;)

Control-Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Control-Board use?

The Control-Board is built around the Nano_v3, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Control-Board?

The Control-Board measures 51.7 × 41.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Control-Board?

3 components, from 3 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Control-Board design files?

From the kholia/Easy-Transceiver repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Control-Board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with kholia. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Control-Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
