About the Xor trial PCB

Xor trial is an open source PCB design by ksr, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 62 × 44 mm, with 9 components from 7 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the 74HC86. By type, the board carries 3 resistors, 2 switches, 1 IC, 1 connector, 1 LED and 1 capacitor.

From the project

The XOR trial circuit realised as an orderable KiCad 10 PCB, generated by a script (generators are canon here too — edit genxor.py, re-run, don't hand-edit the .kicadpcb). 62 × 44 mm, 2-layer, all through-hole.

The XOR trial circuit realised as an orderable KiCad 10 PCB, generated by a script (generators are canon here too — edit genxor.py, re-run, don't hand-edit the .kicadpcb). 62 × 44 mm, 2-layer, all through-hole.

Two generators, one circuit: gensch.py builds the schematic and genxor.py builds the board, and they hand-code the same netlist independently (this tiny board is not big enough to justify a full schematic-driven-layout netlist import). The schematic passes ERC and the board passes DRC, both clean.

Xor trial: common questions

How big is the Xor trial PCB?

The Xor trial measures 62 × 44 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Xor trial?

9 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Xor trial design files?

From the ksr/p8x repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Xor trial design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ksr. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
