About the Hw ophio PCB

Hw ophio is an open source PCB design by maxses, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 33 × 20.3 mm, with 32 components from 22 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the MIC5501-3.0YM5 and MCP2221AxST. By type, the board carries 12 resistors, 7 capacitors, 5 diodes, 4 connectors, 2 ICs and 2 switches.

It belongs with the usb & debug tools designs in this gallery.

From the project

USB to UART adapter board (KiCad)

Ophio is an USB to UART adapter. It has an Micro-USB connector to be connected to a host computer and an 2,54mm pin socket.

Additional to the pin socket the PCB has an 10 Pin FPC interface for campo devices (STM32 boards).

The device also provides an I2C-Bus via USB. An extern 3V LDO (referring to the MCP2221) is used. The I2C runs on 3V.

The STM32-Flasher tool can be used to flash targets. Its available on the website of ST. Following procedure has to be performed to start target devices in internal booloader mode.

Hw ophio: common questions

How big is the Hw ophio PCB?

The Hw ophio measures 33 × 20.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hw ophio?

32 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hw ophio design files?

From the maxses/hw-ophio repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hw ophio design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with maxses. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
