Design files for SIPM boards

This page is obsolete. A greatly improved design is available here: https://github.com/OpenSiPM/sipm-bias-control

The updated design has higher dynamic range, lower noise, higher bandwidth and includes the bias generation, power supplies and low pass filter.

These are the design files for the SIPM amplifier described in M. G. Giacomelli, "Evaluation of silicon photomultipliers for multiphoton and laser scanning microscopy," J. Biomed. Opt. 24, 1 (2019) available from…

Sipm: common questions

How big is the Sipm PCB?

The Sipm measures 25.3 × 25.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Sipm?

26 components, from 17 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Sipm design files?

From the mgiacomelli/sipm repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Sipm design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mgiacomelli. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
