I2c moist sensor: common questions

What microcontroller does the I2c moist sensor use?

The I2c moist sensor is built around the ATTINY441-SSU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the I2c moist sensor PCB?

The I2c moist sensor measures 18 × 149 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the I2c moist sensor?

22 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the I2c moist sensor design files?

From the Miceuz/i2c-moisture-sensor repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the I2c moist sensor design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which Miceuz chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the I2c moist sensor without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
